We are proud to announce a new partnership between Justice Prince in North Tyneside and Northern Cancer Voices, rooted in a shared commitment to tackling inequalities and ensuring that community voices are heard where decisions are made.

Too often, people and communities most affected by health inequalities are not represented in the rooms where policy, systems, and services are shaped. This partnership is about changing that. By working together, we aim to amplify lived experience, strengthen community-led evidence, and influence system change that truly reflects the realities of people’s lives.

Why collaboration matters

ancer outcomes are not equal, and neither is access to information, services, or support. Structural inequalities, social determinants of health, and systemic barriers mean some communities face greater challenges than others. Addressing this requires collaboration – not only between organisations, but with communities themselves.

Justice Prince and Northern Cancer Voices bring complementary strengths. Justice Prince has deep roots in North Tyneside communities, with trusted relationships and an understanding of local challenges and strengths. Northern Cancer Voices brings expertise in engagement, advocacy, and influencing health and care systems regionally and nationally. Together, we can ensure that community insight informs decision-making, even when individuals cannot be physically present in those spaces.

Ensuring voices are heard in every room

A core aim of this partnership is to make sure community voices are reflected in conversations and decisions that impact them. This means listening carefully, gathering insight in inclusive and accessible ways, and representing those perspectives clearly and ethically to system leaders, commissioners, and policymakers.

We believe representation is more than attendance, it is about accountability. When community members cannot be in the room, organisations like ours have a responsibility to carry their voices accurately, transparently, and respectfully. This partnership strengthens our ability to do that effectively.

Supporting organisations to evidence their impact

Another key part of our work together is supporting organisations to report on their impact. Community organisations do vital work, but they are often under pressure to demonstrate outcomes without the time, tools, or capacity to do so fully.

Through this partnership, we will help organisations:

Capture meaningful qualitative and quantitative impact

·        Use community insight to inform service improvement

·        Evidence the value of lived experience in shaping change

·        Share learning clearly with funders, partners, and system leaders

By strengthening impact reporting, we can help ensure community-led work is recognised, valued, and sustained – and that learning feeds back into system change.

Looking ahead

This partnership is a step towards a more inclusive, accountable, and responsive health and care system. We are excited about what we can achieve together and committed to working in a way that centres trust, equity, and community leadership.

We look forward to sharing updates as our work progresses and to continuing to stand alongside communities to ensure their voices shape the systems meant to serve them.
